The one-hour film also takes viewers around the world before the competition to meet the ten contestants from Paris, Cologne, Seoul, New Zealand, USA and Canada. The 10-day competition was recorded live at Longwood Gardens, home to the massive 10,000-pipe symphonic organ commissioned by Pierre S. du Pont in 1929.

The international organ competition was launched in 2013 in honor of the industrialist Pierre S. du Pont, the iconic American industrialist who led both the Dupont Chemical Company and GM. Pulling Out All the Stops was nationally distributed by American Public Television (APT) in 2015 and reached more than 80 percent of US households. The documentary was underwritten by Wilmington Trust, The Crystal Trust, The 1916 Foundation and The Frederick R. Haas Legacy Fund.
